Snapshots: Meow Parlour

June 29, 2015

I did it. I finally did it.

After making a reservation two months ago, my friend Kristina and I finnnnally went to the cat café, Meow Parlour. And it was magical.

Firstly, let me say I’m not a cat person. Sorry, dogs are one of the ways to my heart. But there is something oddly relaxing and fun about just chilling with cats (and omg, they’re so soft!). There were even a bunch of toys to encourage the cats to play with you.

We were greeting by a cat sitting on the keyboard of the reception desk were w checked in. We got lucky and the cats were actually in quite a playful mood. There were about five just meandering about. There was also a huge binder with “headshots” and descriptions of all the cats that had been there; all the cats are up for adoption.

You might be thinking, “okay cool, but that sounds rather unsanitary for the food.” Meow Parlour has an actual little cafe around the corner where you buy your phone (or adorable cat shaped macaroons) first. Pretty smart right?

Overall, the cat café was a magical experience. Have you ever been to one?

Also, if anyone starts a puppy café, please let me know asap.

Snapshots: China Through The Looking Glass

Yesterday, I got Friday night drinks with a friend at the Metropolitan Museum and saw their new exhibit; China: Through the Looking Glass. It was awesome. Like, Savage Beauty: Alexander McQueen (which I saw four times) awesome. I loved the way they placed the garments…
